The RLA catalog number 2501.1rp96-2 (cast) designates this remarkable mandible as a valuable addition to the world of paleoanthropology. Discovered by renowned archaeologist Tim White and his team in 1994, this fossil is now part of the esteemed teaching collection at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
