The Accuracy International AWM rifle is a variant of the British Arctic Warfare (AW) rifle series. It features design details similar to the basic AW model but has a longer bolt for magnum-length cartridges such as .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum. The bolt head, locking ring, extractor, and magazines are revised to accommodate these larger rounds. The AWM utilizes a detachable single stack removable box magazine, holding five rounds, and NATO has accepted the .300 Winchester Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum cartridges for use in AWM rifles.
