model update 7/19/22

split the model into two pieces (plate & fitting)

removed the walls, increased the dimensions of upper top plate to rest on filter top

increased diameter of top filter cap to 3 inches to prevent accidental suck in

v2 models no longer needs to be printed with supports! :)

If you appreciate my work, please like and rate this model and post your makes.

The problem

I got tired of spending $100 a damn filter, you need 2, they last a month or two tops, and you cant even clean them!!! arghhh…they even put a RFID chip in the last filter piece to prevent people from creating aftermarket filters…well screw that…and screw them!

The solution

You'll need the bottom section of the original filter (has the hole that plugs into your hot tub) for this conversion to work. Cut off the filter wrapping, grab your flat head screw driver, and take it apart!

Print this adapter, clip it into the original bottom filter piece, slide your A/C filter onto it, then put the filter cap on top.

You will no longer need to use their long skimmer that slid over the original filter anymore.

Print Settings

Support is not needed! I would use PETG or ABS as this print will be submerged 24/7 under water. I'd also recommend 100% infill to avoid any open voids possibly collecting water, accumulating bacteria, etc
