The proposed drum design is comprised of four sections, each featuring a dual Archimedean spiral that has been rotated at an angle of 45 degrees in relation to its neighboring sections. I selected the archimedean spiral for its straightforward manufacturing process and consistent pitch (50mm in this instance), thereby eliminating potential variations that could result in clogging during loading or unloading operations. The spiral design also provides a realistic opportunity to exceed the target fill ratio of 50%. Eight cutting tools, fabricated from hardened steel, are integrated into the design, while the spiral segments are constructed from carbon fiber, reinforced with titanium inserts on exposed sides (a feature not included in the model).
