We run Bows for rent on bogenmiete.ch and have owned archery bows for a long time. In an autumn camp, we faced a minor issue with two of our 40+ bows - the tip-reinforcement was missing. We soon discovered that without it, the string would get damaged after just a few shots due to its sharp edge. I had to come up with a temporary solution by using duct-tape, but that wasn't a long-lasting fix. I decided to learn FreeCAD at home and create a new tip-reinforcement for those two faulty limbs. The learning process was challenging! Now let's take a look at my Print Settings: Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.05 Infill: 80-100% Notes: To be honest, the resolution isn't very important, but using a setting of 0.2 would make a lot more work necessary to round off the edges afterwards with sandpaper. Here are some pictures of how our problematic bows look: This is what our bow models looked like. They had standard tips on them: As you can see, I'm still a bit green - if someone doesn't know what a tip-reinforcement looks like: These black things are it: Now let's talk about the problem in detail. Without those reinforcements, the limb would break after some shots and we'd be in trouble! And finally, here's my solution to this little problem!
