ArChery Cam Print All at Once - no assembly needed
thingiverse
Update: Instead of a 3D printed riser, I opted for a PVC pipe, as evident in one of the pictures provided. To lighten and stabilize the cam, I assembled all parts together with support printing as necessary, no assembly required afterwards due to lack of metal screws, resulting in a lighter and more stable design. Adjust fill % and wall thickness when printing to achieve desired strength and weight. I printed at 25% infill and 0.8mm wall thickness. My 20x20 print area allowed for only an 0.85 scale version of the original size. This project is ongoing, with potential future modifications including adding axles to eliminate bearings and supporting the cams on a wider pivot base for enhanced stability. I modified the brackets to accommodate a DN25 PVC pressure pipe, which has an outside diameter of 33.5mm before flattening. To complete this project, you'll need: Arrows: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1755574 Arrow rest: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1775389 Raiser made either by plans from here:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456919 or http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1755555, or simply a plain PVC pipe bent to shape as seen in many YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+make+PVC+bow Post-Printing: Alignment of the cams After assembly, one or both of the cams might turn out not parallel to each other and running smoothly on the cord. If this is your case, simply heat one side of the affected arm of the bow until it's parallel, then let it set by cooling down. Voila! Tension the strings and cut the ends with a hot soldering iron, then tie them in place when everything aligns well. For the "bearings" of the cams, I 3D printed small barrel-like washers that fit the sides of the cam or used real bearings. Use this project on your own responsibility; the author doesn't guarantee it to be suitable for any purpose whatsoever.
