Arch LED light bulb assembly jig
thingiverse
A rapid test was created in Sketch-Up for an innovative idea I've had. What if instead of the LEDs in a standard LED light bulb shining out only from the front, they could form the shape of the entire bulb? By crafting six or more arches and assembling them into a bulb-like structure, a truly unique lighting effect can be achieved. The holes are strategically designed to hold the LEDs while soldering them together into strings, allowing for easy removal of the finished string once complete. These holes measure 5mm in diameter within the model but I strongly recommend scaling up the design by 5% to 10% prior to printing to ensure a perfect fit on your printer. One model was printed at 110% scale but assembly of an LED bulb has yet to be attempted. Printer Settings Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Kossel Mini Rafts: Not necessary Supports: None required Resolution: .15mm layer thickness Infill Density: 30% Notes: Printing settings may vary depending on your specific printer. Post-Printing Procedure A quick clean-up is often necessary, especially when dealing with the thin strings between the pillars at the top of the structure.
