Arch filament spool stand
grabcad
My take on a problem solved by everyone. This is a filament spool stand based on an equilateral pointed arch. I've uploaded the step files so that folks can make adjustments depending on whatever materials they have available. Since I used aluminum U-channel and 1/2" aluminum rod to span the gap between the arches, you may want to use similar materials if you have them on hand. The U-channel is press-fit for a secure hold. A 6201 bearing with a 32mm diameter and 1/2" bore does the trick - I just happened to pull it from an old wheel I had lying around. It's a robust design, so one could probably get away with thinner bodies or lower infill settings if all you need is to hold 1kg filament spools. Alternatively, consider placing the bearings directly on the spools and using fewer arches - that's the purpose of Arch-rodCut_2.stp.
