Arcantrik Force Generator Proxy
thingiverse
This is my take on a proxy model for the Arcantrik Force Generator Battle Engine from Warmachine, but with a major twist - I actually like the real deal, so this is more about saving money than modding it. For models, I used the Dark Protoss Arbiter meant for a StarCraft 2 mod and the NOD MCV from C&C: Tiberium Wars. I basically cut up the arbiter and pasted its parts on the MCV where they looked good. My goal was to create some kind of spider tank with big front legs, and I think it came out pretty well. The model is sitting on a 120mm base made in Inventor, which has little nubs indicating the facing. The only thing I'd like to add is the swirly details found on real retribution models, but I've yet to figure out how to do it easily and well. As for printing, I have no idea if this will work. I split it up into four parts small enough to fit on an Elegoo Mars printer since that's what I plan to use, but the full model is available for anyone who wants it. I'll get around to doing something with the Trident eventually, maybe after I finish printing out two of these guys. Edit 1: 3/21/2020 I'm switching to MymIniFactory because this site has become painfully slow. I didn't survive dial-up speeds just to go back to it now. My user name on that site is TheMindRobber, and I'll repost everything I have here. Edit 2: 7/4/2020 This site is back to normal for now, so I'll keep posting here. I've updated this model with smoother parts and added a lot of detail to almost everything. Hopefully, it's better now. I'll keep the old version available for anyone who wants it. Edit 3: 7/30/2020 I split the model into its component parts so it fits in my Elegoo Mars without arbitrary slices through the whole thing. Edit 4: 8/2/2020 I printed out the last version and found it difficult to put together, so I added keys to all the joints. I also changed the 'tail' a bit because it printed too thin on one of the spars. This should be the final update for this model - I'm tired of working on it!
