Arcadyan KVD21 Vented Antenna "SMA Hat"

Arcadyan KVD21 Vented Antenna "SMA Hat"

T-Mobile Home Internet has released a new wireless modem/gateway the Arcadyan KVD21 (lovingly called the 'TrashCube' following the Nokia 'TrashCan' naming) and as per the usual there are no external antenna ports. Sadly, the KVD21 doesn't even have slots available to pass pigtails through the factory housing when assembled so it seemed necessary to both create a piece that allows bulkhead mounting for SMA antenna pigtails while increasing airflow over the stock assembly. Enter, the SMA Hat! There are currently two versions - V2 has a vented top that uses a little more plastic but has slightly better cooling, while V3 allows you to re-use the factory cap that you removed from the top of the KVD21. Both of these print without supports and have been tested in PLA, PETG, and ABS. The models snap-fit tightly into the factory housing with no fasteners and accept standard SMA bulkhead fittings (8mm hex). If anyone has ideas for additional functionality or fixtures, please leave me a comment and I'll gladly alter the model and upload an additional STL. Cheers! u/WastingAllTheThyme
