Arcade1Up Plunger conversion
thingiverse
The Arcade1Up pinball plunger sensors suffers from the Inverse Square Law, meaning it's more sensitive when retracted and becomes less and less sensitive the more you pull on it. When converting an Arcade1Up pinball cabinet to a PC cab, you'll experience artifact like the plunger being overly sensitive and not being able to control well your shots. The good news is that you can simply tape (with double sided tape) a 100mm linear potientiometer under the plunger to the metal bracket holding the sensor and use this part to fix the plunger to the potientiometer. I added a hole for a M3 screw to fix the holder to the plunger, but it's not mandatory. The spacing of the holder makes it so you can use 100% of the potientiometer without breaking it by restricting the motion of the plunger by about 7mm when pulling. When pushing, you should be able to get to the tip of the plunger without going over.
