Arcade1Up Chassis Screw Cover
thingiverse
I recently purchased the Arcade1Up Galaga game cabinet and it's been a great addition to my gaming setup, thanks to its easy assembly and excellent instructions that made the process a breeze. I've been thoroughly enjoying playing on it. The only issue I had was minor and cosmetic - visible screw heads in the finished game cabinet and riser spoiled what would have otherwise been an exceptionally professional appearance. Here's a simple solution: a very minimal screw cover or cap that fits snugly into the recessed screw holes used by the main screws. It's held in place by friction, so it can be easily removed if needed (though that may cause some deformation, so print extras). These parts print quickly, but their thin walls can be tricky to slice - check out the Notes section for specific print settings to achieve the desired result. I've noticed there are a few other excellent designs available on Thingiverse, and I hope my design will join them in providing a unique yet effective solution. After further consideration, I added another version with a slightly larger diameter for the screw hole. Since wood tends to shrink as it dries, my original version may become loose over time - printing the 9.80-diameter version instead can help prevent this issue. I've since acquired three different Arcade1Up cabs and risers, each requiring screw inserts with varying diameters. I've added a few more objects to account for these differences, but you'll need to print one or two of each to test them out - fortunately, they only take a couple of minutes to print.
