Arcade spinner mounting plate/template
thingiverse
This is a single template and mounting disc used to mount 5VDC, 600p/r Incremental Rotary Encoder to your arcade control panel. The center of the plate can be easily removed after holes are drilled, leaving a mounting plate for the spinner in place. I have also included a custom-designed spinner top spacer that can be scaled vertically if needed, to fit your knob perfectly. The idea and Arduino sketch were inspired by a video found here https://youtu.be/RsdFCMazzgI created by Joe W. Thanks are extended to Joe for sharing his project with the community! I have modified the sketch to remove the joystick interface since buttons are handled by my X-Arcade controller. A YouTube video showing my setup is available here https://youtu.be/AqYDVgHWPoc and a second video going over wiring and programming can be found at https://youtu.be/zHjOcqpGl6M List of parts used: 600p/r Incremental Rotary Encoder, 5VDC, DC-24V, 6mm Shaft Arduino Pro Micro ATmega32U4, 5V, 16MHz, Micro-USB Development Module Board CNC Aluminium Alloy Volume Control Knob, 6mm Hole with Set Screw Micro USB Cable 8mm M3 screws (3) 3/8" Phillips countersink screws (4) This mounting disc/template was 3D printed and can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4065881 The Arduino Pro Micro housing and associated sketch, "spinner_no_buttons.ino," were also 3D printed and are available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4065889/ Installation instructions and MAME DIAL SETTINGS chart can be found here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LNWvXfLu1R1BIbdRE4Ho2E5RHNSW2niEuBgavP57IrU/
