Arcade Joystick Restrictor Kit
thingiverse
After building a few RetroPie Arcade cabinets, I quickly discovered how challenging it was to play 4-way arcade games like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Frogger and others using an 8-way joystick. For about a year, the only solution I found was to purchase joysticks that offered 4/8 way restrictors which were significantly more expensive than what I was using. I decided to try building my own solution. You can watch my initial video on this topic here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W97VfAiYEr4&feature=youtu.be After that worked, I built another arcade controller and it also worked perfectly. You can see that video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qpNYv4gWv0&feature=youtu.be For more information on the components and their installation, please refer to the PDF document above. Following the success of my 3D Printed solution, I decided to make this kit available for anyone who wants to use it. If you would like to see any enhancements or additional inserts for a different controller, please comment below or check out the contact details in the included PDF file. If you try it out and it works great on your stick, please post a link to the controller you used it with and I'll update the PDF with confirmed controllers that work with it. I hope this makes Retro gaming even more enjoyable!
