The nut/bolt fit snugly in the top (non-standard) T-track on the top front of the JessEm sliding miter fence attached to their router fence. It allows custom jigs (for example, for end-milling tall narrow boards) to be attached quickly by just sliding onto the miter fence and tightening a couple of knobs. Regular bolts or T-bolts require at least one additional washer of the correct size because the slot is unusually wide (it's more like a 5/8" miter slot than a standard T-slot.
