Arc Reactor (with NeoPixel ring and Wemos D1 Mini)
thingiverse
I built an Arc Reactor model from a retired hard drive I had lying around and a NeoPixel Ring. I repurposed the HDD motor and platters as a base for the coils and integrated the Neopixel Ring seamlessly into the design. The Neopixel is powered by a WemosD1 Mini board. I used Brim on almost all models while printing on my ANET AM8 3D printer. Note: You need to print the two claw parts with supports, ensuring they face upwards, and also add supports for the NeoPixel cover. The rest of the prints don't require any additional support material. Everything was printed flat on the bed, except for the two hinges which were printed upright with the circular parts facing up. To assemble this project, you'll need some extra components: * 8mm threaded rod (approximately 10-15cm long) * Three screws, approximately 10-15mm in length (for the base assembly) * One screw to secure the claw, approximately 20-25mm in length * An M5 screw and nut for the hinge mechanism * Copper-colored paint or a similar finish for the interior of the coils (I used my girlfriend's nail polish collection with her assistance)
