Arc Reactor MkII - Wearable
thingiverse
This is an Iron Man Arc Reactor Mk II. It closely resembles the original model but has undergone some significant modifications to make it wearable. The design had to be shallower and more compact to accommodate the wiring without protruding too much from the body, giving it a striking resemblance to Tony Stark's Arc Reactor in the first Iron Man movie. The pieces are being printed using Resin with the Anycubic Phonton printer. To achieve this unique look, all the parts are opaque, while the Diffuser is transparent. A special mention goes out to Evangelos Agas of Accura3D for his invaluable assistance in printing these intricate pieces. If you're looking for affordable 3D printing services, be sure to reach out to him! The Arc Reactor's diffuser features thirteen holes, each accommodating a 3mm LED. Cold White LEDs are the ideal choice for this application. Moving on to the bottom base, it has ample space for wiring and a convenient hole that allows for connection to an external power source. A couple of AA or AAA batteries should suffice for powering this device. The design also ensures a snug fit against the user's chest. The ultimate goal was to showcase this creation at the 2019 Portuguese Comic Con in Lisbon, where it will be proudly displayed on a customized t-shirt with visible wires leading into the garment. If you're as passionate about DIY projects as I am, consider joining me at the convention. Who knows, maybe we'll even collaborate on a future project! Have fun and see you there!
