ARC powered Power Supply Unit
thingiverse
For my projects, I required a power supply unit that exceeded standard capabilities. Existing PSUs are not only numerous but also lacking in features and aesthetics. To address this, I designed a custom PSU with the following characteristics: - Direct connection to a wall outlet (220V or 110V) - 2x USB QC3.0 ports - 1x 12V / 3A port - 1x adjustable port 0-32V - Some fuses for added safety - Active Cooling system - A sleek and modern appearance - Internal LED lights for a futuristic look - The iconic STARK Industries logo - Powered by an MK I ARC Reactor (a nod to the Marvel universe, albeit fictional) The components used in this PSU are as follows: 1x Power Supply AC-DC 9A (110V / 220V) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y1VR232/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_woMFEb3TSB15A 1x XL4015 DC-DC Step-Down Converter 5A (for USB ports) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KTZ1GNT/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_KdMFEbPBEZM56 2x LM2596 DC-DC Step-Down Converter 3A (for 12V port, lights, and fan) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YWLCTLK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_vDMFEbZDES45W 1x Boost Buck DPS3012 (for adjustable port) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PLDB3Y3/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_BGMFEbVC8VT6X 2x USB Ports QC 3.0 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VRCYH76/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_TdMFEbK0B2EKE 1x DSN-VC288 Voltmeter (for 12V port - I want to see the amps) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078TGKH2S/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_7dMFEbGW1X6W0 2x Switches 10A (for 12V and USB ports) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0743GMJRD/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_YdMFEbTPJ96J0 1x 120mm Fan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002KTVFTE/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_5dMFEbKPAA014 2 Sets Sockets / Connectors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SJ42DX3/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_-dMFEbF889H30 2x Fuses https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP374KM/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_RdMFEb44P3RT1 1x White LED Light Strip 12V https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YZGGJWQ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_pdMFEbZEWA231 26x PT-Screws 3.5x10 for thermoplastic available on eBay This PSU is highly individualized and not recommended for anyone to build due to its numerous features that most people do not need. I am still refining this design, and if a better DCDC or ACDC component becomes available, I will replace the existing ones. You can consider this design as an inspiration only. The PSU's components are modular, making it easy to replace them with different parts to match your needs. The white front panel, black mask, and electronics carrier are designed as separate modules for easier customization. If you're not satisfied with the ARC Reactor, you can simply replace it with the optional upper grid. I do not provide schematics for the electrical wiring, as I believe the modules are self-explanatory. However, if you're unsure about any aspect of the design, please do not attempt to build your own PSU. Working with 110V or 220V can be extremely hazardous and even lethal if you're not experienced. The case is designed to be printed using a layer height of 0.2 or 0.3mm. You can adjust this setting for more detailed prints, especially on the ARC Reactor. Supports are required on some parts. I used PLA for most components but PETG for the electronics carrier due to its higher heat resistance.
