Arachne, the First Spider

Crafted with cunning for the woodland warriors at Sketchfab. Inspired by "Arachne, Weaver of the Gods" by toomanydemons, licensed under CC Attribution. Arachne was once a mortal weaver of unmatched finesse, but she became consumed by pride and arrogance from all the accolades she received for her craft. She later dared Athena to a competition to determine who was truly the greatest weaver. Though there were various versions of the story of the contest, one common thread ran through them all: Athena ultimately transformed Arachne into the first spider and made her immortal. She then became the Goddess of challenge, spiders, and weaving. As a result, Arachne's name came to signify "spider" in Greek.
