Arabidopsis mutant Apetala

Arabidopsis mutant Apetala

sketchfab

Arabidopsis mutant Apetala exhibits a severe reduction in floral organ formation due to the loss of function in one or more of its three genes responsible for floral development, Ap1, Cal and AGL20. This mutation leads to a complete absence of flowers on the plant, resulting in an inability to produce seeds. Despite this, the mutant still grows vegetatively and produces leaves, stems, and roots normally.
