I'm setting up a DIN-Rail Mounting Kit for my GL.inet AR300M openVPN Router in an electrical cabinet. It's designed to fit on a standard mounting rail. The idea behind this project was that we needed a reliable way to mount our VPN routers in the office for our VPN service stories. The AR300M router used to just kind of "hang out" uncontrolled in the cabinet, and sometimes it was necessary to install a USB LTE stick with it. This added more chaos with the 4G antennas. Now the router is neatly organized on the mounting rail. You'll need to print two parts: the base where the router goes and the rail adapter that connects the base to the mounting rail. The rail adapter needs to be inserted into the back first, then pushed forward until it clicks into place with the base in the designated slot. There are two versions: Standard: - Base: complete base including an LTE pigtail socket - Rail Adapter: nose for LTE pigtail cables no4g: - Base: without LTE pigtail socket - Rail Adapter: without nose for LTE pigtail cables You'll only need support for the base, as the "clamping mechanism" or its top part can't be printed cleanly. (With a bit of post-processing, it's still doable) UPDATE: Initial tests of the design showed some weaknesses in the mounting rail clamping system. The movable clamp broke off/ didn't hold up. The rail adapter was therefore completely reworked so that the pivot point is at a different location and the concentrated load has been drastically reduced. Additionally, I recommend printing it in ABS, even though this may not be strictly necessary.
