AR22 Upper Reciever - Half Port Only
thingiverse
Removed a hollow pocket behind the threads that was left during modeling. Removed the port cover brackets. Removed block of material designer left inside receiver around port area. rotated model 90* to print on the rail. use tree supports for a cleaner surface finish in this orientation. *update**2/16/21* Print came out very good, except for the threads. The support didnt help enough. The charging handle was also too tight to the top and the front pivot pin hole was too small. Closed the extraction port .400in more since CMMG 22LR kits dont need that much opening. Remodeled the threads to be full length. Try printing it with the threads on the bed. If not, rail down. *** found when printing rail flat on bed that the barrel hole is slightly tight likely due to blobing from overhang. IT WILL CRACK. It still worked, but try printing threads down if it will work for you. 3/7/21 Latest Update. Left old files. I am uploading a 3rd file, vertical with the upper (rear) takedown supported with a built in support. Please use generate support in the slicer with touching bedplate only and 85* angle. This will support the area of the threads, front take down, and front face of top rail. Printed great this way. very nice layer lines and no issues with shortened/damaged layers due to issues with support travels.
