AR15 Receiver Engraving Jig for X-Carve CNC

AR15 Receiver Engraving Jig for X-Carve CNC

This is a simple jig I created to hold an AR15 in place for engraving. It was built with mounting points 75mm on center to match an X-Carve CNC wasteboard perfectly. Two M5 thumbscrews secure the jig, while the third M5 thumbscrew goes through the magazine catch hole to seat and lock the receiver firmly into position. Before you start engraving, it's crucial to use a dial indicator on your spindle to verify that the receiver is level and true. I used sheets of paper to shim the jig until it was perfect. It's worth noting that this is not a production-grade jig. I made everything intentionally loose because the goal is to get the receiver flat, not to precisely locate it in X/Y coordinates. The contact surfaces are designed to work with both A1 and A2 receivers.
