The plate fastens the wing to the fuselage, serving as a crucial connector between the two. Engineered to dislodge screws in the event of an impact on the wing, this plate allows the wing to detach safely without sustaining damage. Three holes are drilled into it, providing an alternative route for screws if one becomes stripped. If all three holes become damaged, replacement of the wood backing inside the foam is necessary, accessed from beneath the wing.
