AR-10/LR-308 Ejector Pin Removal Tool

thingiverse

This tool is designed specifically for removing the roll pin that secures the ejector pin in an AR-10/LR-308 bolt. For reference, a similar design can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3270414, which offers an AR-15 remix courtesy of kombayotch on Thingiverse. The concept for this tool draws inspiration from a $63 version sold by a large supplier, albeit one constructed from metal and accommodating both AR-15 and AR-10 bolts. I opted to create my own rendition, as it was not already available on Thingiverse, making it a valuable addition to the community. This design is optimized for printing with ABS plastic, factoring in the shrinkage factor inherent to this material. My choice of ABS was driven by convenience, as it was already loaded into my printer, and I feared that PLA might be too brittle (though this may not necessarily be the case). The metal components required include a 3/8" x 18 nut and a 3/8" x 1" x 18 thumbscrew or hex-headed bolt. A suitable substitute for the thumbscrew is a screw, although this option is less ideal. A cap is included to fit over the end of the screw threads, which can be secured using silicone adhesive or an alternative material. Holes are also provided for #6 sheet metal screws, allowing users to attach the tool to a piece of wood for added stability if desired.
