How I Designed This One of my first models created with Autodesk Inventor. Aquila Aquila This small bird is designed for stable gliding flight. You can scale this model up to 1.3x (recommended). Due to the simple and fast print, it's ideal for experimenting with this model. Adjust the position and orientation on the print bed, fill the eye with varying amounts to affect the center of gravity, or change the overall weight by extruding the body. The heavier the body, the more stable and faster the gliding behavior will be. Assembly: It consists of three simple parts that are glued together using a second adhesive. The line in the middle of the wings makes it easy to position them on the body (no measuring or additional tools needed). The Wings: Using different numbers of layers, the wings automatically adjust their position and stabilize the flight at various speeds due to their own weight. For students, this is an easily recognizable example of how a supporting area functions. The Body: This is not only responsible for a correct center of gravity, but also serves as a shock absorber with its shape. The Fin: By bending the fin left or right after printing, you can influence the flight direction. This allows you to demonstrate the effect of "rudders" like those used in normal airplanes. I wish you lots of fun experimenting and a good flight!
