Aquarium Overflow Guard

I designed this guard to fit snugly over a standard 1" 90-degree PVC elbow, commonly used for directing reef tank water into the sump. Repeated clogs caused by snails were disrupting my nighttime routine, so I took action to solve the problem. This guard effectively blocks snails, fish, and large debris from obstructing the overflow, ensuring a smooth flow of water. The design fits securely around the outside of the PVC overflow, but can be easily modified to fit on the inside if needed. After making several adjustments, I achieved a precise fit that allows the guard to sit flush with the tank's rim. To promote unimpeded water flow, all edges are carefully rounded.
