Aquarium lid clips for 5mm and 6mm glass

I added DIY mesh lids to my 20-gallon and 4-gallon aquariums using aluminium flyscreen framing and polyester bird settings from the Hardware store. It's a super easy build and instructions to do so are readily available. The harder part is mounting these lids to your rimless tank. Most of the plastic lid clips available to buy are crap. So I designed my own. These are designed to fit 5mmm glass or 6mm glass. They slot over the top rim of the tank glass and hold the lid a few mm below the level of the glass. This allows you to make your lids flush with the tank opening and prevent any small gaps that tony fish can jump through. I find ABS best for these as it's slightly flexible and less brittle than PETG, so less likely to snap when sliding over the rim of the tank. Two on each side of the tank is enough, but an additional clip at the front and back can help make the lid sit more stable.
