Aquarium Intake Filter for 15mm Siphon Tubing

Two weeks ago, a couple of fish slipped past the filter's protective mesh and made a bold escape into the water filtration system. I rectified this situation with a replacement intake filter designed by me on Thingiverse - a DIY platform http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1012465. But while attempting to draw out some excess water, I realized that using flexible tubing might pose a risk of accidentally sucking another unsuspecting fish downstream. This upgraded intake filter fits perfectly with standard 15mm piping, and with slight modifications could easily adapt to sizes ranging from a half inch to one inch in diameter or equivalent diameters from ten millimeters up to twenty-five millimeters.
