Weighted Base Unit for Aquarium Plants. Retail plants often float listlessly, a constant reminder that they need secure anchorage. To address this issue, I designed and built a weighted base unit to provide stability and keep them submerged. The base is printed in PetG, a versatile material suitable for aquarium use. A Lee Lead ingot is inserted into the bottom of the base, serving as a counterweight to hold it firmly in place. The ingot is sealed within using black silicone sealant, ensuring its secure positioning. I successfully mounted 4 to 5 silk plants on each base unit, using the same silicone to attach them securely.
