Aquarium diffuser bar

Aquarium diffuser bar

I'm experimenting with a diffuser bar to replace the outflow on my Fluval 207 tank. This custom-made part is a 17mm pipe that I designed to direct flow towards the water surface for optimal gas exchange. To print this piece, I used supports from the bed only and made sure the pipe was printed flat with holes facing upwards. The end cap, which allows me to control the direction of the flow, was printed with its closed end facing downwards. During my testing phase, I encountered two minor issues - a slight ovalness in the open end where the cap connects and some looseness. To fix these problems, I simply submerged the open end of the pipe in hot water from the microwave and then fitted the cap onto it. If you want to print the pipe with an open left orientation, all you need to do is mirror the design in your slicer software.
