Aquarium Desk Lamp Adapter
thingiverse
I wanted a light for my fish tank to cultivate algae for my fish's diet, but buying an aquarium light was too expensive for me. So, I decided to repurpose a spare desk lamp I had on hand. To keep it in place, I had to print this little adapter. Be aware that using electricity near water is not recommended and can be hazardous; I recommend using a GFCI outlet. This prints well without any supports. Update: 1-15-19 If the light was positioned too far forward, the original adapter could pivot forward. To address this issue, I redesigned the adapter to fit more snugly after taking precise measurements of my aquarium. However, I assume that not all aquariums have the same dimensions. If this design does not suit your tank, please send me some pictures and measurements so I can create a custom file for you.
