Aquarium Decoration - Textured Rock Cave (cubic) - Large
thingiverse
Custom Rock shaped cave with two entrances for fish, shrimp or reptiles measuring 25cm by 20cm by 14.3cm. Designed with walls that are just 2mm thick, this object is intended to be printed with a solid fill of 100% and without any supports; the thin walls in its design make it unsuitable for significant resizing (anything less than a 50% change should work). PLA and PETG plastics are both denser than freshwater, so a 100% infill will naturally sink to the bottom of the tank. On safety and longevity: Both PLA and PETG plastics are generally considered food-safe. However, some dyes and additives might not be safe, so I use natural colors to play it safe. The decorations are painted with non-toxic acrylics and coated with plasti-dip (also generally considered aquarium-safe) to seal the paint. I recommend printing in PETG long-term since PLA is biodegradable and its presence of heat and water will cause it to break down, although from all accounts I've read, it will still last for over a year. Disclaimer: I'm just a hobbyist, and everything I've stated is based on my personal experience and Google search results.
