To catch bugs in an aquarium effectively, simply place some fish food or a similar bait inside the container, and gently lower it into the aquarium at night. Allow it to remain submerged until morning, when you can carefully retrieve it. This clever method allows you to trap insects that are drawn to the food and become trapped within the device, such as planaria, Hyalella azteca (scuds) or Lumbriculus variegatus (blackworms). The idea is that once these bugs enter the trap, they will remain there as long as food is present or until the light outside becomes too bright. To harvest microworms from a culture efficiently, use the lid of the container as a base to support the open trap. The unique gyroid pattern on the surface provides an abundance of space for the microworms to easily climb up onto it. With patience, these tiny worms will gradually crawl upwards, allowing you to harvest them simply by rinsing them off from the trap in water.
