The make consists of six panels, arranged three wide by two tall to produce a final product measuring twenty-four inches in width by sixteen inches in height. This employs an improved panel system compared to my earlier background, which can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3509102. A double-sided aquarium background is made up of eighteen different panels, each approximately 20 cm^2 in size. The maximum dimensions of the background are four feet wide by two feet tall when using all eighteen panels without resizing. To assemble the background, print as many panels as necessary to fit your aquarium. They are organized by layer (the bottom layer being number one) and position (panel "b" is placed to the right of panel "a"). Ensure you obtain precise measurements of your aquarium or terrarium before printing to minimize unnecessary work. Use your slicer to cut off any excess length or height from the final row and column panels, as each panel has been rotated ninety degrees clockwise to allow for support-free printing. Printing is a straightforward process that requires no supports, and the alignment of panels is facilitated by the inclusion of woodworking-style "biscuits." While gluing the panels together can still be challenging, using CA glue and baking soda, as detailed in the linked video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9qqEbPxx0k), makes it manageable. Side one features a sharp detail canyon wall, while side two presents a rounded "negative" of side one, functioning as an earthen wall. The design was created with three-millimeter walls and is intended to be printed using twenty- to one-hundred percent infill without supports. However, thin walls in the design make it unsuitable for significant resizing (any change less than fifty percent should work). PLA and PETG are both denser than freshwater, causing 100% infill to naturally sink to the bottom of the tank. Regarding safety and longevity: Both PLA and PETG plastics are generally considered food-safe; however, some dyes or additives might not be. I use "natural" colors to ensure safety. The decorations are painted with non-toxic acrylics and coated with plasti-dip (also generally considered aquarium-safe) to seal the paint. I recommend printing in PETG long-term since PLA is biodegradable and exposure to heat and water will cause it to break down. However, from all accounts I've read, it should still last for over a year.
