Aquaponics Seeder
thingiverse
A single self-contained floating aquaponics/hydroponics seeder glides effortlessly through the water but may need a design overhaul once it's fully grown, depending on its growth and any potential issues that arise. Currently, I'm cultivating lettuce in this unit. To keep the seeds secure within, I've utilized the waste filament I collect. A small piece of paper towel holds even the tiniest of seeds firmly in place until they germinate. Once sprouted, the waste filament should effectively replace peat moss, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional growing mediums. I opted for this repurposed waste instead of purchasing peat moss from Home Depot, hoping it would work well as a substitute. These nighttime photos showcase my tinkering process; I adjusted the temperature slightly to create a stringing effect, which should help the plant stay afloat once its roots are established. Only time will tell if this approach is successful – and we'll see how it plays out!
