Aquaclear 50/200 media basket
thingiverse
Years ago, I created a custom media basket for my Aquaclear 50 filter based on some designs I found online using acrylic glass, drill bits, and silicone. A few years have passed now, and the silicone is starting to break down, so I decided it was time to design and 3D print a new one. The original basket only accommodated two types of media. With this new design, you can easily hold three different types (I personally use carbon, biomax, and foam). Dimensions: V1 Frame: • 128mm (H) • 122mm (W) • 60mm (D) Tray: • 3mm (H) • 72mm (W) • 56mm (D) V2 Frame: • 128mm (H) • 122mm (W) • 55mm/46mm (D) at top/bottom Tray: • 3mm (H) • 72mm (W) • 47mm (D) Update: I added V2. Initially, I designed the basket based on measurements from a replacement basket I found online because I didn't want to disable my filter. When I was test fitting, I noticed it was too tight, so I made some adjustments to the depth. V2 is now 55mm deep at the top and 46mm deep at the bottom. The tray has also been changed to 47mm deep. I'm keeping the V1 files online because I'm not sure if there's any difference in size between American and European versions, or really old versus newer ones.
