Aquabot mold (cerby's crawlers 02)
thingiverse
My ABS test mold for oogoo experiments features a silicone caulking and cornstarch mixture (50/50 or less starch). It's essential to line up the mold using a flat surface, as there are no alignment holes. The cast turned out well and taught valuable lessons in ABS casting with oogoo. Credit goes to jasonwebb for inspiration from thingiverse.com/thing:31581. To replicate this mold, print in ABS; PLA remains untested. For the best results, opt for a 10% infill and finer slices. Acetone wash enhances the mold's surface for visually appealing castings. The casting process involves fast or fine methods. Fast casting requires oogoo packing, wire centering with beads, and c-clamping until set. Fine casting adds a thin silicone caulking coat, left to harden for 24 hours before proceeding with the fast method. This technique ensures better surface finishing and allows for glow-in-the-dark effects using glow pigment.
