I recently acquired an aqua one clear view 280 HOB filter after my previous one stopped functioning, forcing me to seek a replacement with haste. The frequent need to replace cartridges has long been a pet peeve of mine. To circumvent this issue, I began removing the filter material from used cartridges, discarding the carbon and replacing it with polyester filler secured by string - an imperfect solution that occasionally proved inconvenient, leading me to change it less frequently than necessary. My intention was to 3D print a custom replacement cartridge, one where the filler could be easily inserted between two halves. This design is far from ideal, but it functions satisfactorily for now and I have no immediate plans to modify it. Perhaps others may find it useful or at least worthy of consideration.
