Apulian Amphora

myminifactory

This amphora originates from the region of Apulia, its creation dating back to around 330 BC. A woman gazes leftward on one side of this 37 cm tall vessel, her features adorned with a leaf wreath, trapezoidal earrings, and a double strand pearl necklace. In contrast, the opposite side showcases an eros seated on a rock, facing rightwards. This winged embodiment of love is richly decorated. The distinctive style of Apulian vase painting, born in ancient Apulia, encompasses both geometric pottery and red figure pottery, making it a unique regional flair of South Italian vase artistry.
