Aptera (BETA) with interior and moving parts
cults3d
Model of the Aptera. I used a large number of reference photos (mostly from the Alpha stage) and modified it based on what is currently known about the beta shape. Some details like the solar panels are made far more embossed than they will actually be so they show up in the print (this is not intended to be engineering accurate - it is a sculpt not a CAD). For now due to technical difficulties I am focusing on a 2 part clamshell only which will allow viewing the interior and painting details. From feedback I received this seems to be the popular option. Due to problems with tooling stability and wanting to get a working version out this is currently my focus. If you would like to try to print individual parts and have moving wheels the pieces are all in "Pieces with clamshell.3mf". Future Versions: The vehicle is in multiple parts so it can be printed very large and is intended to have moving moving wheels. Doors and hatch is something I hope to add in the future but it is very tricky. This model is built using a combination of VR sculpting in Adobe Medium, GIMP and MS 3d builder rather than traditional modeling software and methods. Integrating the parts was quite tricky as I unfortunately had issues with my mirror plane (Adobe medium) and made shape changes after splitting the parts (that was dumb). It may need some green stuff to address small shape issues. Not everything is pinned so expect some work getting the pieces glued (I will try to address this after some test prints and work on the door movement) This is still a work in progress. Note: This model contains some very small details so it could be tricky to print on an FDM This model contains derived work using the following for the wheels and coffee cup: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1818514 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2680925
