Aprilia rs250 frame 3d scan by tõnis vanaselja (part two)

A 3D scan of an Aprilia RS250 frame was converted from STL mesh to NURBS surfaces using Inventor 2013. After closing any holes in the scanned data, it became a solid model, which was then divided into separate sections according to welds. This test proved effective in achieving the desired result. The process included: 1. Retopology of the original mesh to quads in Topogun. 2. Subdivision (3x) of the new quad-based mesh in Topogun. 3. Conversion of sub-d mesh to T-Spline surface in Rhino. 4. Conversion of T-Spline to NURBS surface in Rhino. 5. Import of NURBS surface into Inventor and stitching.
