Apple Watch RFID Tag Holder
thingiverse
These designs are a way for me to put an RFID tag on my Apple Watch Nike Sport Band. I based this idea off of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3192684, but I had to rebuild it for a different dimension tag. I also wanted to build a version that would protect the RFID tag which is why I made a second version. Additionally, I linked the Fusion360 files so anyone can customize them from my prebuilt models. More details about this project are on my website, evan.jmorse.com. V1: This is the first attempt at this project. My only goal was to get an RFID tag on an Apple Watch Band. It was a success, but I would not recommend using this method anymore as it was only needed as a stepping stone for V2. (Photos 3-7) V2: This is the first version where the tag is encased in the print. This way the tag will not fall out, and it won't be exposed to harmful elements such as water, sand, or dirt. This is done by pausing the print at a specified layer, placing the tag in the print, and then resuming with the printer covering the tag with filament and sealing it in. (Photos 1-2) I am planning on designing a V3 for this project in the future with some better dimensions to loosen the pressure on some of the pegs attaching the part to the watch band as well as see if I can make it any thinner. However, I have tested V2 for a full week, and I have had no problems with any of the parts breaking, or the RFID tag being damaged from being exposed.
