Apple Watch 44mm Series 4/5/6 Charge Stand

This is a compact charging dock designed specifically for the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, and Series 6 models. The dock utilizes the built-in charging puck found on these devices. It was created with the 44mm Apple Watch in mind but should also work with the 40mm model. The stand seamlessly accommodates both Milanese Loop style bands and traditional watch bands. To activate nightstand mode and turn your watch into a clock, simply place it on the dock with the crown facing upwards. This project is credited to Joe Bishop (jbishop129) who originally conceptualized the design. However, I adapted his idea in Fusion from scratch since SketchUp wasn't available to me and Fusion imported the original file as a solid. While I appreciated Joe's concept, it had some drawbacks such as inadequate cable retention, tight tolerances that caused issues with many printers around the USB passthrough, and insufficient ballast. This revised version addresses these concerns by featuring a deeper cable channel with a proper bend radius at the 90-degree angle and includes cable retention to ensure the dock lies flat. Additionally, I added four holes that can hold seven US pennies each, adding approximately 75-80 grams of ballast. This keeps the dock securely in place without requiring adhesive. To achieve this, print the dock with the bottom facing down on the build plate. Supports will be necessary for the ballast holes as well as the top of the charging puck arch. In my experience, these supports come away cleanly and require minimal cleanup. If you're interested in obtaining the Fusion files, please send me a note, and I'll be happy to share them with you.
