This is a simple solution but very effective. It is strong and easy to print. On the inside it has two diameters to accommodate the USB cable larger diameter close to the USB plug. You can print it in different colors and it will make your cable look cool. The STL dimensions are for device USB cable (they are slightly larger than the USB cable you use to charge your iPhone). You can easily adjust the size in the slicer App. Just reduce the X and the Y by 0.5 mm or 0.55 and it should work ok for the iPhone USB cable. You can also adjust the X and Y to fit larger cables made by other than Apple. Print is easy and quick.I used PLA.
