Apple Pencil Holder w/ Magnetic Cap Closure

After acquiring an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I sought a solution to safeguard the Pencil during transport. Since I frequently incorporate small magnets into my designs, I opted for a magnetic closure on this project. The interior features a conical shape at its base, positioning just above the Pencil tip, thereby minimizing stress on the most delicate area. Refer to the cross-sectional screenshot in the accompanying images for visual reference. This design allows for minimal movement within the enclosure. To ensure secure fastening, I employed two 5mm x 1mm magnets. By firmly inserting them into the corresponding holes in the cap and holder, a sturdy bond is established. To guarantee their permanence, I applied a small amount of gorilla glue gel to each magnet. These magnets possess sufficient strength to maintain the lid's closure even when subjected to vigorous shaking. The snap-fit cap hinge has been designed with a loose fit, allowing for effortless snapping into place without compromising structural integrity during normal use.
