Apple Magsafe Power Adapter Stress Reliever
thingiverse
Here is how I came up with this: Using my own Magsafe adapter model A1344, I tested its functionality and immediately noticed significant differences between wattage adapters and series when it comes to the spacing of their 'wings' as well as the diameter of cable molding used in some. My message to everyone with an Apple MacBook is: be prepared for individual results. I know from my work at an independent Apple dealership that these power adapter cords are extremely delicate and need special care, which I'm familiar with due to servicing multiple customer computers on a daily basis. Over time, they experience a lot of wear due to constant handling. That's why I designed this thing to be functional. Here it is: it features two separate halves that fit together perfectly around the cable while wrapping under those flip-out 'wings'. A built-in holding device ensures only a smooth arc when winding, minimizing sharp bends or kinks in the cord. I am confident this can extend the lifespan of these precious power cords. I took great care to set the tolerances very closely, so you won't need much else for cohesion. However, if your printer settings happen to be looser than average, using a zip tie around that central holding point is all it takes to keep things in place.
