I've got a fascinating fact for you - take a look at that picture with the red arrow pointing to the tulle inside and you'll see how power flows from two separate wires on the inside out through a coaxial cable on the outside. That's exactly where the cable mainly bends, and it's also the spot where it gave way after just three years. Needless to say, my 2013 15" Macbook Pro is an absolute disaster - over 10 dead pixels, a busted power supply, and poor sound quality make it a total mess. I've got to hand it to you, Apple, that design was a real winner! I had to take drastic measures to diagnose the problem - cutting open the PS with an angle grinder showed me what was going on. And then I had to get creative and build my own case because attempting to open the original one would have been catastrophic.
