Apple maggot traps
prusaprinters

I didn't like the apple maggot traps I found, so I designed my own. Designed to print with no supports and with minimal material.

Print with ABS or PETG, obviously. I use a bright red colored filament for use in my apple trees, and they are working great! My apples have never been more worm free and I have not had to spray anything, organic or otherwise! As of posting this, we still have a few months to go before the apples are ready for harvest, but at present I'm seeing over 75% of the apples on the trees appear worm free, which is far better than other years by a BIG margin...

Coat exterior with "tangle trap" (sticky stuff you can get at garden centers or on Amazon et al specifically for this purpose), and hang in tree with wire/zip tie/string/etc. in proximity to the fruit you are trying to protect.

Change trap as needed.
Category: Outdoor & Garden
