Apple IIe SMK Short Stem Adapter

Apple IIe SMK Short Stem Adapter

I scoured the internet without finding any evidence of someone creating a small adapter that fits between a keycap and an SMK short-stem keyswitch on an Apple IIe keyboard, which uses these types of switches. I needed three adapters to complete refurbishing my first-generation Apple IIe. Although there are some online retailers selling them, the shipping costs are quite high for such a tiny part, so I figured designing one myself would be a relatively straightforward task. To install this adapter, you must first press it into your keycap, then push the keycap and adapter onto the SMK short keyswitch post. Be extremely cautious not to break off the adapter inside the keycap. YMMV - This part works perfectly for me.
